IPL
What is IPL…?
IPL (stands for Intense Pulsed Light) generates wavelength of intense pulse light from 515 to 1,200 nanometre. The wavelength and the duration of released light can be adjusted to suit each operation by using filter. Differ from the operations of Laser, the operations of IPL releases light of many different wavelengths. IPL is used to cure some skin lesions and some facial conditions for some patients. Now, there are many types of IPL machines, which are produced for different types of operations.
Skin lesions that can be cured by IPL:

Blood vessel lesions such as congenital red birthmark, varicose veins

Skin pigment lesions such as congenital black birthmark, freckles, and melasma

Hair removal

Facial firming
-
Acne treatment with some chemicals such as 5-ALA

Convex scar treatment

Like Laser, IPL can be operated as out-patient treatment taking 4-6 times treatment with 20-30 minutes/treatment. It takes about 3-6 weeks interval between each treatment.
Advantages of IPL:

Unlike Laser, IPL does no harm to epidermis.

It takes less recovery time for each treatment and the patients can get back to their normal lifestyle.
Possible side effects that can be caused by IPL (but no danger)

Hurts during the treatment

Skin redness

Burning pain may be occurred within 2-3 days after the treatment.

Scabbing/Darker skin (prevent by avoiding direct sun or using sunscreen )
