Hypothyroidism
Thyroid is a type of hormone, which is produced and secreted from the thyroid gland located at the front of the neck. Functions of the thyroid are to control and maintain body’s systems and Metabolism. People with Thyroid disorder, either Hyperthyroidism (an overactive thyroid) or Hypothyroidism (an underactive thyroid), will experience changes in body weights either loss or gain, respectively. Besides, the Thyroid is very important for a baby. The baby with hypothyroidism tends to have delayed development and retardation.
Hypothyroidism occurs when the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormones. Most of the Hypothyroidism patients do not get to their proper treatment as they may not notice their symptoms related to Hypothyroidism. Some people have been classified as embedded Hypothyroidism when their symptoms show but the hormone test results show negative. So, they do not get their treatments because of the false-negative results.
